What we would like to see in Pokemon Heart-Gold and Soul-Silver.
The hotly anticipated remakes of Pokemon Gold and Silver have finally been revealed! After a discussion with NinjoMewtwo we present to you the features that we would like to see in Pokemon Heart-Gold and Soul-Silver. Note that nothing is known yet about these games. The following features are just fan based expectations!
The original Storyline
First of all we would like to see the original storyline untouched. Any additional content is well accepted but only if it is between Johto and Kanto, or after Kanto. We hope that the Johto adventure will not change a bit!
Upgraded Visuals
In Gold and Silver there are a lot of compicated sights like the train or the various towers. We expect to see beautiful visuals there according to the style of D/P/Pt or even better. Furthermore a good job should be done with the intro. The FR/LG remakes had spectacularly remade intros and we expect the same by Heart-Gold and Soul-Silver. It would be a good idea to keep the diffrent sprites between Gold and Silver. It would be an even better idea to give us exactly the same sprites redone with better quality. That would give the perfect feeling of the old being new again.
Beautiful Sound
The sounds will surely be remixed. What we want is respect to the original sounds. They did it quite well with FR/LG and they should be able to do it again here.
Pokemon that should remain where they used to be.
This is pretty much covered by the "original storyline expectation", but we want to make something clear: The red Gyarados HAS to be there plus Lugia and HooH should be in both versions instead of becoming version exclusives.
Additional Content
If added with respect to the original story, additional content is very welcome. Here is what we want to see:
-Add some extras from Crystal. Battle Tower and the extra content regarding the Unown should be there
-Give us Mewtwo! If he should not be in the unknown dungeon in Cerulean, he should be in a new island. He just have to be somehwere!
-A new time capsule. Pal Park is OK but Time Capsule was a signature of Gold and Silver. They can apply the same rules of backwards compatibility, but we think they should not limit us to 6 Pokemon per day.
-GTS. A GTS similar to the one of Platinum will be a very welcome addition.
-A special event with Celebi. Yes, everybody was searching for Celebi back then. Just give us the same event but in European and US versions as well!
-A better story regarding Team Rocket. Between Johto and Kanto or even after Kanto we would like to see a good storyline involving Team Rocket. Maybe Giovanni should return to take revenge…
-A stronger Elite4. It would be a good idea to have a stronger Elite4 after the end of the extra storyline just like in Fire-Red and Leaf-Green.
The Cloning Glitch!
Let's face the truth. Sooner or later some dedicated Pokemon Nerds will find a way to clone Pokemon in any version. Instead of making things difficult we ask Nintendo to give us the original Cloning Trick that everybody knows and loves!
A surprise
Nintendo knows how to surprise us in a possitive way. We think that there should be at least one surprise that we cannot predict but will make us very happy!
These are our hopes and expectations about the upcoming remakes. Now it's your turn to tell us what would you like to see in Pokemon Heart-Gold and Soul Silver!

Exactly my thoughts. After the introduction of some unknown, up to then, islands in FRLG, I think that the Orange Islands can make a nice appearence in HGSS, thinking how their storyline in the anime took place between the Kanto and Johto storylines. Gen IV places like the Pal Park and/or Battle Tower (Frontier?) would fit quite well there. Of course, that could even raise the number of obtainable badges to 20, making the game even more exciting.
About the GTS, I guess it'll be in Goldenrod, probably in the right part of the city, that deserted place where the bike shop was.

Maybe they could have us be able to go to every region(except orre) and let us go to the orange islands.
A celebi event wouldn't be a bad idea.
Maybe nintendo could develop some device that allows us to migrate from the original gold/silver
and I hope its not for the DSi!

@Pizzabox: The "Every region" part is something not possible at the moment -methinks. We're talking about DS cartridges here, there isn't enough space/memory/whatchamacallit for that much, fortunately or unfortunately.
Also, Nintendo wouldn't be able to develop such as thing (the "some device that allows to migrate from original G/S"), DS not being compatible with GBA cartridges from the beginning, it only makes sense that they're remaking things.
But as everyone up-ahead said, Orange Islands could be a nice addition to the whole Poke-world. In addition, the Underground should be in the remakes imo (wi-fi compatible, as in Platinum). It was a nice touch in the 4th Gen., why miss a chance exploiting it more? ;p

I am going to disagree with this. The Underground will not add anything to the remakes. It would be better if they focused on other things instead of wasting memory on this.

About the memory talking, i checked some roms size, and D/P is like 130MB, when some others are like 300MB+. So i don't think that space is a problem. You can also think of the tiny SD cards that are 8 giga bytes.

I doubt the orange islands will be included in this, Arty. Sorry to just randomly cut in here, being the new guy in town, but I agree that a new area IS needed, as well as keeping the old ones in one piece.

Nintendo should color the DS cards for these games the same as the original Gold and Silver. They should also allow Secret Bases in these coming games. I don't mean the underground bases in D/P/Plat. either, I want a return of the secret bases from R/S/E. My favorite part of my Sapphire game was mixing records, then challenging my friends bases. I think something like this would make a good addition to HG/SS. The return of the Pokegear has also got me thinking. Not only should it comeback with all it's original features (especially the radio) it should have extra features that you have to find and add to it, just like the Poketech in D/P/Plat. I also think that Mewtwo shouldn't be catchable in HG/SS. Tying him into a storyline with Team Rocket would be okay, but we don't need another Pokemon game plugged up with too many legendaries.
Just my two cents.

I think they should add the orange islands, Mewtwo, and a Celebi event. Maybe the trading the Pikachu colored Pichu to HG/SS and going to Celebi's shrine and encountering the Notched Ear Pichu event will get you the GS ball. I think they should also have you get the 1st and 2nd gen starters.

If Giovanni were to come back, they should have you team up with Mewtwo. (incorporate the revenge of mewtwo movie, I suppose).That could be interesting…just a thought. Though, Orange islands could be pretty d*** cool. Hopefully in the future they could make a game that has all of the different regions in it. Ultimate fan-gasm.

nothing from the movies or anime is canon, e.g. the orange islands, mewtwo being able to talk, etc. the only game that anime stuff was in was yellow because it was based around the anime

I am pretty sure they're gonna add new areas this time, GTS can be taken from granted I suppose and a Celebi event is also a must.
