I am most excited about getting done the Version Checker and the EV training tools; I needed the latter a lot myself and thus I halted playing Platinum till I finished this.

Kudos to all of you that keep me going by supporting this calculator and translating it other languages: Spanish, Italian & Italian, Korean, Chinese and possibly more that I do not know of... Leave your notes of wisdom and possible requests for future versions in the comments below. Also report any bugs/problems as usual.

The map artwork which shows the regions in Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver is fully revealed. This is a great deal, since this will finally end the arguments about the remakes having Kanto or not. Plus, not only Kanto itself, but also a new region can be seen on the left. Heart Gold and Soul Silver seem to have more aces up their sleeves, so let's be prepared for more surprises!

The japanese Box Arts for Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver are officialy revealed.

Each box simply features Ho-Oh and Lugia, while the background is a map of the area where each of them can be caught; The Tin Tower and the Whirl Islands respectively. The boxes also seem to be bigger, as they contain the much anticipated Pokéwalker.

In addition, scans from the CoroCoro magazine reveal that Heart Gold owners will be able to somehow catch Kyogre while Soul Silver owners will get their hands on a Groudon. It also seems like when someone gets both Kyogre and Groudon on one version, Rayquaza will make its appearance.

We still don't have any news on the release date, but this is yet to be expected. We'll cover up more info when further details are revealed.

Just a quick note, to remind everyone that starting from the 8th of June until 19th of July, Platinum players throughout Europe will be able to get the Secret Key via Mystery Gift.

The Secret Key allows players to change Rotom to its different formes, so if you wish to have your Rotom turned into a fan or a toaster, you must go to the Mystery Gift option on the Start Menu, choose Receive gift via WiFi and afterwards you can pick up your gift from any PokéMart!

To enable Mystery Gift, go to Jubilife City, on the 3rd floor of the TV building, there is a TV producer. The correct answer to their question is: Everybody Happy followed by: Wi-fi Connection. Then, after saving the game, Mystery Gift can be found on the Game Menu under Continue and New Game.

You can change Rotom's forme in a locked room inside the Galactic Building in Eterna City.

It's been announced from the official Poké site, that a new game, going by the name "Melee! Pokémon Scramble" will be released on June 16, available for the Japanese Wii-players. It's download cost will be 1500 points.

The game can be controlled with the Wii remote held sideways, or the Nunchunk. Pokemon will look like they did on "Everyone's Pokémon Ranch". Players must control their Pokémon in a pit, which is filled with many other Pokémon. The winner is tha last one standing. There's also a story mode, which includes boss fights, a 2player co-op mode ans a stadium mode, where up to 4 players can battle. Players can also trasnfer Pokémon with their Wiimotes, simular to the way Miis are transfered.

Hopefully, we'll see this one game released for the US and Europe

While we approach the end of the 1st Online Pokemon Championships co-organized by Legendary Pokémon and Nintendo.gr, the latter just announced the dates for the Shaymin distribution in Greece, the events start on Friday the 29th and end June 20th in Athens, with a lot more cities and Cyprus to follow.

In other news, Pokémon Platinum was released in Europe just yesterday (I am pretty sure that you have already bought it) but the Secret Key event will launch on WiFi from June 8th to July 19th all across Europe. The Secret Key allows you to enter a secret room in the Galactic Building in Eterna City where the player is able to alter Rotom's formes.

The show and website of "Pokémon Sunday" has announced that at the episode which will be aired next week, some really interesting news will be presented and, most likely, it will be a whole new Game-Freak game, meaning that another Pokémon title will be coming out this year. Nothing has been officially announced as to what game this is going to be, but there are some speculations that this will be about the much-anticipated Gold/Silver Remake. Chances are this is pretty possible, as there are many signs prooving it, for example the new figures of the "Metal Generation's" starters, Totodile, Chikorita and Cyndaquil, which will be released in Japan on 9/19/09. Still, as said before, these are just speculations, nothing is officialy confirmed, so anything can be expected at the time being.

While the rest of the world is having their own official Pokémon Championships and Japan is getting ready for Arceus, Nintendo.gr supported by Legendary Pokémon organizes the first Greek Pokemon Championship on Nintendo Wi-Fi. If you live in Greece (or Cyprus) then go ahead and read the official announcement and hurry before you miss the deadlines!

The finalist will get among other merchandise, the chance to capture a Shaymin before the actual events in Greece.

Breaking news: In an unpredictable and out of the norms move, Nintendo of Japan decided to sue against all fansites about Pocket Monsters and willing to shut them down or head them towards new directions. Nintendo's President Satoru Iwata, says among others, the following in the official Cease and Desist announcement issued from their headquarters:

When we envisioned the future of the franchise upon its creation, we intented to have yearly Pokémon giveways during predefined events. Unfortunately these meddling fansites put our vision in harm by uncovering secret legendaries such as Shaymin and Arceus before we decide to reveal them according to our plot.

This situation has to come to a quick end. We will make use of all the legal resources available to use in order to pursue our goal, that is tear appart the online fan community of Pokémon, and maybe go as far as to prohibit the use of our copyrighted names.

As much as we'd like to consider this an April Fool's prank, I am afraid this is not a joke my fellow fans. We could do nothing but comply with their orders, so yours truly, without further ado changed our layout to match the above requirements. We shalt be named Legendary Courgette from now on, and that's zucchini for our American readers, or κολοκύθιον for our Greek friends. North America celebrates the launch of Pokémon with a pre-release party in Nintendo World, New York. Attendees will be able to buy the game one day prior its nationwide release, and also have a chance to win a game autographed by the game's producer Junichi Masuda and director Takeshi Kawachimaru

As for us in Europe, we have to wait another couple of months till we can see the game in the stores, but the good news is that a promotional series of Shaymin events has began already, starting with Spain April 15th 2009 in participating GAME stores and Germany from April 25th 2009 to May 17th 2009 at 10 McDonald's locations across the country. Greece is confirmed to follow with its own series of events nearing the release of Pokémon Platinum, so stay tuned for exact dates.

Also don't miss the interview G4 TV hosts with GameFreak designers Junichi Masuda and Takeshi Kawachimaru. The interviewer asks some really insightful questions on Platinum and Pokémon games in general and the designers don't hesitate answering some hot matters.

G4: Many people erroneously think that Pokemon games are just for children, but there are many complex features in the game like IVs, EV training, Hidden Power, and more. How did these features come about?

JM: The reason why we put things like IVs and EVs into the game is because we wanted to give players that are really into Pokemon battles much more to work with and much more to enjoy. We have a team that's dedicated to constantly enhancing and evolving the battle system. They have so many ideas and such a willingness to enhance the game. They're always thinking of ways to make battles more interesting. One example from this generation is that they separated moves into physical attacks and special attacks, which adds more versatility and strategy to both offense and defense. They always listen to player feedback and they battle a lot themselves. This team is the reason why Pokemon has such a rich battle system that's always evolving.

Finally, as a follow-up to the release of Platinum, we'll begin "platinizing" our Pokédex in the following weeks, being the only site ever that managed to release the first data ever on Platinum and be the last to become up to date! Stay tuned for more...

It's been a while since we last had a worthwhile update, but we all are kinda on a hiatus, for now. There's a certain rumour that the european release date for Platinum is May 22 confirmed! , while North America is officially getting it on March 22 and any fans that pre-order the game will also get a Giratina Origin Forme figure, while supplies last of course. If that ever happens, then we will be one step closer to a global release, the ever sought dream of any Pokémon fan... But here's our exclusive info: the european release date is going to be announced on February 16, that is this Monday, and since such an announcement happens that early, isn't a May 22 launch date more possible, or not?

In other news, there's the Shaymin giveaway over at Toys R' Us, till Valentine's, for the fellow american players (already got mine via wifi, thanks Cynthia). And it looks like the Onyx Black DS Lite is discontinued, possibly in preparation for the DSi while rumour has it that the european date will be close to the north american one...

And last but not least, looks like a Corocoro scan was leaked, depicting Arceus, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Heatran and finally the strange eared Pichu that fooled us all into thinking it was a new species of Pokémon. Arceus is apparently going to star in the 12th Pokémon movie, titled "Arceus - To the Conquering of Space-Time".
