As previously announced, Gamefreak director Junichi Masuda visited today the popular japanese TV-show Pokémon Sunday and revealed the silhouette of a new Pokémon which will apparently have a key role in the upcoming movie "Phantom Champion Z". CoroCoro magazine also displayed the silhouette on a teaser in their website which is also availale on our Flickr.

In other news, Serebii seems to have revealed the Pokéathlon events' names, from the english version of HeartGold & SoulSilver.

There might be a few things missing and therefore I will be checking the article every now and then as I polish it up. On a side note, I have added and corrected a few things on Normal Type as well. Feel free to leave your interesting suggestions and responses in the comments section.

We inform you the Pokemon Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Tsunekazu Ishihara) is developing the latest work for the RPG series "Pocket monsters" (Development: Gamefreak Ltd.: Nintendo Ltd.) that is the original Pokemon series for the Nintendo DS which is to be released within 2010. ...

... The "Pocket monsters" series for the Nintendo DS makes the best use of the dual screen, touch and Wi-Fi capabilities of the Nintendo DS. This completely new game, four years after "Pocket Monsters Diamond and Pearl" (17.150.000 copies worldwide with over 5.800.000 in Japan), will feature new gameplay, new Pokémon and provide a reformation reborn of the series.

Please expect a future press release with more information on the content of the game.

The explicit mention of new Pokémon and of a schedule reformation of the series, makes us think that this is confirmation of Generation V games. It is also possible that these new games (or game) are related to the rumors of a successor to the Nintendo DS in late 2010. Perhaps the February edition of CoroCoro will reveal more information on the matter.

In other news, fansite Pokébeach [article now removed for some reason] reports on a possible new forme for Celebi, set to appear in the upcoming Pokémon movie, Phantom Ruler Z. However such claims with no official confirmation are to be taken with a grain of salt.

Apparently, Gamefreak director Junichi Masuda is visiting the Pokémon Sunday TV show on February 7th, planning to reveal more information.

What is more, pre-orders for HeartGold and SoulSilver have begun in Greece and orders include matching Pokémon memorabilia.

In an unrelated note, Legendary Pokémon is now a national partner of the United European Pokémon Communities, a new initiative based on the principles of "Unity, Community, Participation". Make sure to read their constitution and if you do live in Europe, support their effort.

Many of you asked for an update on my first part of Pokémon Elements, which concerned the Normal Type, as it was written back in Generation III. While it took a while for me to get a grasp of the new generation, I decided to reopen this project and start working on it anew. My first priority was to bring the Normal Type up to date before I started focusing elsewhere; many things were revised, added and swapped around.

I proudly present to you Pokémon Elements: Normal Type, now updated to Generation IV games! I hope that you will enjoy reading through it once again and leave me any comments, corrections and suggestions that you can think of.

However, do not worry as I do not plan on letting things heat off again! The Fire Element is next and will be available to you in less than two weeks!

Jan. 5th: According to official sources from Nintendo.gr, the next European press release for HeartGold & SoulSilver is scheduled for January 14; presumably that's when we're finally getting a proper release day!

Another new year sets yet another frontier, we wish you a Happy New Year, well being, endless imagination, waterproof passion, warm hearts and quality time with your beloved ones.

To mark the pass of the chronological decade, we decided to refresh our looks a little bit: the layout is dead, long live the layout! The keen observer should also notice that we now have a better integration with YouTube and Twitter, so make sure to follow us and spread the word! Opera users may notice a slight lag when scrolling, until blazing fast Opera 10.5 is released that is! Three sparkling new wallpapers are also available in our downloads page!

We also updated our Pokédex and Attack Database to include Platinum (at last!) and HeartGold/SoulSilver data! There might be some minor bugs here and there, so feel free to report them as usual and they shall be fixed before the American release.

Legendary Pokémon of the Week writer Ninjomewtwo has prepared a bunch of new articles according to the new metagame as set by HG/SS, enjoy!

Our forums have also been revamped including better structure, new categories and a matching layout along with a custom-tailored banner by forum member (and ♡-thief) Velisianna! On an additional note, our Greek fans now have a matching subcategory for every forum category and can also change the forum language to Greek!

Of course these days, nothing is complete without a matching meme, and considering our affection for courgettes, Slowpoke decided to spin some round, round for New Year's sake!
