Reading Japanese
The Japanese writing system, alongside the familiar ideographs (kanji) uses two sets of symbols (~alphabets), the cursive Hiragana and the angular Katakana. Both are used in conjuction, yet Katakana is mostly used for foreign words and sounds. The following table is oriented towards those who already have a basic understading of Japanese yet do still need to refresh their memory when it comes to recognising kana.
