Berries and Pokéblocks

Ruby/Sapphire introduced a new type of berries. These can be plant and grow in trees, given to Pokémon to cure them in battles or used for Pokéblocks. Berries can be found in many places. You can find them in berrytrees or get them from these people:

  • Kiri in Sootopolis City (2 daily)
  • Berry Master (2 daily)
  • Berry Master's wife (1 daily)
  • Boy on Route 114 (1 daily)
  • Girl on Route 111 (1 daily)
  • Girl on Route 120 (1 daily)
  • Flower Shop (1 daily)
  • Gentleman in Lilycove City (1 daily)

However they can also be found on wild Pokémon like Numel or Vulpix. Berries need time to grow when planted and if you water them every few hours with the Wailmer Pail (Flower Shop) you will get extra berries. Some Berries have field effects such as curing or healing Pokémon. Berries are also usefull for contests because they are used to make Pokéblocks wich raise Pokémon's status. You can find a Berryblender in every Contest House (Verdanturf, Fallarbor, Slateport, Lilycove). Just talk to the one with people using it (the other one is used to make Pokéblocks with friends via a Game Link), select the berry you want and then try to get as many double circles and circles as you can. The fastest the speed of the Berryblender the better the Pokéblock. Be careful what Pokéblocks you feed a Pokémon as it can only eat a limited amount.
For complete description of each berry, Pokéblocks it can be used to make and growth times check the Berrydex below:
